Friday night and I'm sitting in the dark thinking about things. What I want. What I should do. What I need to do.

Things #1
Even though I'm definitely 99% not pregnant (two negative pregnancy tests), hence the white wine, I would keep it if I was. A huge step for me. Single mom-dom isn't ideal and definitely not something I had hoped for but I want a family, so far the 'dad' part hasn't been cast and I don't know if it ever will be. On that note though, I don't want any old loser to knock me up. Greg is permanently out. Theo is too (unless those two tests were wrong...) but for very different reasons, genetically he'd be great! So I guess if I find myself in the family way in the not too distant future, I'd most likely keep it. Big change there!

Am having a 'good hormone' day today, the sun is shining the birds are chirping etc and I think I look pretty good today! Think that maybe some of the positive things I was reading yesterday may be to blame :)

So in the hopes of continuing to feel great, here are a couple of positive reminders to myself:
- You are a warm and open person, most people are drawn to your character
- You rock the dance floor (there's a reason why guys hit on you there!)
- You make a mean quacamole!
- You have style
...and for number 5 - You're pretty damn cute (with a nice rack too!)

Three weeks into my last year as a 20 something.

I turned 29 almost three weeks ago and since the past couple of years have been pretty shitty I think some changes are needed.

1. My health.
I've struggled with my weight all my life and for the best part of my 20s I've been overweight, bad diet and no exercise for years on end, it does not take a genius to see where that will lead. I don't want to start my 30s in the same shape physically so I have the next 12 months to do something about this pattern of mine. I suspect getting off my ass and actually start to do something will be the biggest obstacle. The plan is to start to walk to work a couple of times a week to begin with, gradually increasing the number over the coming months. Food wise, I actually will have to start eating more but cut down on bread and dairy, eating more fish and greens. I really want to start my 30s looking and feeling great, wearing a fabulous dress to my 30th birthday party.

2. Finances.
Right now my finances are a mess. I'm up to my eyeballs in debt and I'm living from paycheck to paycheck, not putting anything away for a rainy day and I do not have insurance. Real smart. So I want to start saving on a regular basis and paying off my debt at a faster rate. I need to set myself a budget and stick to that budget religiously.

3. Life
As in getting one. My creative juices have all but stopped flowing in the past 3 years, my horrible attempt at an MA and my current demanding job have all played their part. I want to actively pursue a creative life and this blog is the first step. I want to start taking more photos, get sewing again and maybe put some paints down on canvas. Hopefully 'forced' daily posts, daily journal writing etc will kick this into gear.

So with these steps, I'm hoping my quality of life will increase dramatically (baby steps I know) and that my 30s will be great, my 40s fantastic and so on. Hopefully these changes will also kick my depression in the balls, make me more satisfied at work and more balanced at home.

Oh and a non-asshole boyfriend who is not ashamed of having feelings for me would be nice. Please.
